Weekly Roundup - 25th June

Its the end of the week so it is time to look back and see how I have doing.

First off, that Battered Hilt I have bought, well, it still isn't a blade yet. I haven't got myself to go through those three instances. Its irrational, I know, but I just don't like instancing, especially with groups I don't know. I even have issues going through with those I do know. Not sure why entirely. So I am considering that purchase a wasted one until I finally get myself sorted.

So, I am currently sitting on the following...

Horde: 23k
Alliance: 2.6k

Its only an increase of 3.5k if we are keeping score but then I have been learning something too.

Monday I spent over 1900g on herbs. I got Adder's Tongue for the amazingly low price of 14g a stack and Goldclover was below market value at around 17g a stack. In all I got 1900 Adder's Tongue and 700 Goldclover. after a lot of milling I ended up with 797 Inks of the Sea and 119 Snowfall Ink. I haven't even manage to dip into this stock yet, I am still working through a stock I built up 2 weeks ago.

So, inks aren't a problem at the moment. I am still only concentrating on the Northrend Glyphs for ease and sales are slow. I have started to make the off hand epics too and these are selling at the rate of 1-2 every other day since Monday. My Scribe has already made back the money spent on the herbs.

Pets remain a consistent seller. I have had my engineer keeping up with maintaining stock of the popular pets and I have had good sales with both a select collection from Stormspire and the Alliance. Will need to restock there soon as well.

Borean to Heavy Borean Leather is a slow sale. I keep a number up at all time but sales can be very slow. The price of normal leather is rising very high at the moment whereas the price of heavy stays low. I post all of my sales in stacks of two, mainly to aid those leatherworkers who are looking to buy to purchase the recipes.

One market I am very surprised with and will be trying to work out its swings is the bag market. During the week I am often the only seller of bags and I sell Frostweave at around 60g each and Netherweave in the region of 14g. Nearly all the money I make goes straight back into buying more stock and I take advantage of low prices. I expect the price of bags to lower during the weekend as cloth becomes cheaper so I intend to buy the cloth out, let the prices rise and go back to selling more during the week. At least, that is how I hope it plays out. Will have to see. I have been surprised of prices at times though. I normally pay up to 12g a stack of Frostweave. Midweek, I picked up a number of stacks for 3g. I'm trying to get into the idea of grabbing stock while its cheaper...

I know, I know, I have a lot of stock but then I reckon some of it is just bad stock. I need more good stock. Start whittling away the dead wood that I don't need. I have made a slow start. I am selling the Lovely Black Dresses at 50g a pop and they are moving slowly. Eventually, I'; clear more space while making money at the same time.

So, what's in the future? Well, this weekend I am a little busy, so I am not sure how much I will be getting done. I intend to lazily fly a number of mine and my GFs characters around visiting fires. It is inefficient but I find it a lazy way to make a little money but more importantly maybe put on a level or two. And I have a number of characters I will like to do that for. Beyond that, well I have some more markets I might want to look into. See what I can make and what I can get for it. And maybe use some more of my stock.

Weekly Roundup - 18th June

Okay, time to go over how the last week has been.

First, let me start by saying my community sucks. I have been getting into the glyph market and boy does it just happen to be really tough. There are already several glyph sellers and a couple of them cancel and repost dropping the price by a couple of coppers, usually just after I have posted all mine up. When it started it got me a little worked up at first but now I am resigned to the fact that its going to happen.

But I have still managed to make something with it. My scribe already has more than when he started and in the week and a half I have been at this I have also purchased every Glyph Mastery book I needed as well as some Frozen Orbs for making offhands. The market is pretty fierce and herbs are seriously overpriced and in short supply. I was going to try to do this just with AH purchases but if my ink stocks get low, I am going to have to farm. I have been selling only glyphs made with IotS along with a few vellums. I have had one offhand sell (I only have one of each on the AH) after a couple of repostings.

My best seller hands down have been Netherweave Bags. I am out of stock. I went up buying stacks of cloth for 6.5g and relisting the bags for 11-12g each. Buy Thursday all the cloth had gone from the AH and now its up to 10g a stack and more. Bags are now selling for around 18g each. Going to try and sell for a little under this to see what happens. Tomorrow I will be keeping an eye on the netherweave market to keep an eye out for my usual prices to snap up cloth. I expect people who are leveling through Outland to post more over the weekened but we will see.

My leatherworker has been doing a nice business buying Borean Leather to resell as Heavy Borean. Again, there has been a scarcity of leather at reasonable prices but he did buy some heavy going cheap and relisted. Hope that turns a profit.

My mix auctioneer has been doing some good sales too. He is a blacksmith who sells rods along with a variety of pets and recipes. Nearly all the recipes that were transferred last week have gone. The pets have been a bit hit and miss. Some sold very well whereas others not so much. My best seller has been the Brown Rabbit Crate from Netherstorm. 9 sold since I started.

I have also placed a few miscellaneous items on. Things that were in storage and took advantage of people looking to buy. I haven't had much luck in the way of auditing whats going in and out but I installed Auditor on Sunday so hope to be better in the near future. But I had noted that on Saturday my balance was as follows...

Horde: 22.5k
Alliance: 1.8k

Now it is...

Horde: 19.7k
Alliance: 2.3k

So, I am down over 2k over the last week. But I did go and buy a Battered Hilt on Tuesday for 9.5k so that does put me at making around 1k a day. Hoping to do better in the future but lets just see.

Weekly Roundup

Well, normally I would be writing this on a Friday, at least thats what my plan is. On a Friday I will write my views on my success of the past week and observations. Normally on a Thursday I plan on writing about my Alliance Project. I wrote out the post earlier today and left it on another computer. So I shall be trying to post that tomorrow instead of re-writing it tonight.

It is quite fortunate that I am writing this today as Stockpile posted an interesting post on farming that youu can read here. It was part of something I was going to touch on today. I have been a little disheartened this week. I have been at the AH game for a little over a week now but have only been trying the glyph market for about 3-4 days. I have been creating glyphs and posting them using QA3 and, although I may have not a huge amount on there (I started around 50 and started posting around 100 after a day or two, I would be getting 5-10 sales a day.

Now, I started looking at purchasing any IotS and herbs that I could but have been unhappy with what I have found. I struck it luckily earlier with getting 200 IotS at 1.9g each but since then I have only seen them for over 5g each. And whenit comes to herbs it is even worse. I have taken Stockpile's rule of buying lowend NR herbs at 15g a stack and highend for 20g or less. And pickings have been very slim. Oh, I bought a huge amount of Adder's Tongue today at 20g a stack. Huge! And got about 5 stacks of Icethorn for less than that but other than that, prices have been very high for small amounts most of the week. Today, a search on herbs have revealed 12 pages in total. Yesterday, it was 8-9. And that got me thinking.

I've heard that Blizzard have cracked down on farmers. I know that will hit the market but I am wondering if it is to do with the realm I am on. I play on an RP realm and the last time I checked Alliance outnumbered the Horde 3:1. I know the realm also went through some fluctuations in population too. It could be that we don't have a large number of farmers on our side. It could also be that I am catching the AH at a time when the posted stocks are thin and the farmers haven't replenished. I suspect I am going to need to learn how to keep an eye on fluctuations.

But then maybe it is like what was posted elsewhere. Prices fluctuate. Maybe I am in one of those upswings and I just need to wait for stock to rise and prices to fall.

So, overall, how have I been doing? I started the week with more money than the end of the week but then I am doing daily quests in the tournament. My scribe is down in funds but then he has over 300 IotS in the bank and over 300 glyphs on the AH. Just got to hope they sell. My enchanter is doing small business with the odd scroll sale but I need to increase his output. Time to start looking into the enchanting business. He makes a small sideline in netherweave bags as well but only when cloth is around 4g. I may buy at 5 seeing as bags are selling around 10g each. And my mid-level blacksmith sells the odd rod and occasional engineering pet he has in storage.

Sales are slow but diverse. The keeps dipping a little deeper in. I can say I am entering the market slowly, just have to see if the market accepts me.
